New Leadership: Evidence Based Organisational Care
Leadership: Evidence-Based Organisational Care
In this series of three live online sessions for school leaders we will focus on the key messages from psychology and neuroscience regarding providing effectiveorganisational care.
We need to create organisational practices that are trauma reducing rather than trauma inducing. The values of trauma-informed practice need to be embedded and modelled with our staff wellbeing at the forefront. The good news is that there are clear messages from psychology and neuroscience to support us in how we can best achieve this.
The aims of the sessions will be:
·To provide an overview of the key messages from research regarding providing effective organisational care.
·To provide an opportunity to start to reflect on your own practice with regard to these key messages (reassurance and ideally identifying actions to further develop your practice).
·To be signposted to other information.
“The bottom line is that is we don’t create organisational practices that facilitate the physiological regulation of our front line workers then we will never be able to create a workplace that will consistently meet the needs of the children and families we are asking them to serve.” Psychiatrist and Neuroscientist Bruce Perry.
“We have an opportunity to really support people to feel treasured, noticed, held and contained.” Psychologist Karen Treisman.
